Slip Slidin’ Away

Reaching for lighter, brighter and more refreshing

While the transition from winter into spring and summer usually has us reaching for lighter, brighter, more refreshing beverages, sometimes you want something bittersweet and stiff to sip on while basking in the sunshine on a warm evening.

Loosely built as a ”white boulevardier,” we used a splash of St Germain elderflower liqueur, which alluringly intertwines with the light floral and citrus flavours of Toki Japanese whisky.

Created by Brian McNally, this cocktail was named after waking up from a sunny afternoon nap with the namesake Paul Simon song playing in the background

Ingredients:

45 mL Toki Japanese whisky
15 mL Cocchi Americano Bianco
15 mL Luxardo Bitter Bianco
7.5 mL St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
1 mL saline solution

Method:

Stir all ingredients over ice, and strain over a large ice cube

Garnish with a lemon twist and edible flower
